When AWS DevOps Agent launched, Fawaz didn't wait for someone else to explain it. He sat down and built the entire setup from scratch, then documented every step across a 7-part series on the AWS Builder Center and Medium. The series starts with creating your first Agent Space and IAM roles, walks through deploying an EC2 workload with CloudWatch alarms, and builds a fully automated incident pipeline using SNS, Lambda, and HMAC-signed webhooks. Each article includes working code, console screenshots, and the kind of "here's what actually happens under the hood" explanations that save other builders hours of trial and error.
What makes the series stand out is how far it goes beyond the basics. Parts 5 through 7 cover cross-cloud integration with Azure using workload identity federation (no stored secrets), building a custom MCP server on Lambda to extend the agent with team-specific runbooks, and wiring up GitHub Actions so the agent can correlate deployments with incidents.
