Welcome to the AWS User Groups re:Invent Ticket Contest. If you've ever walked into an AWS User Group meetup or Community Day, and walked out with a new skill, a new contact, or a new direction, this one's for you. We're looking for the stories behind those moments, the ones that don't make it into a slide deck but changed how you build or where your career went next.
For the first time, the AWS User Groups program is giving away 25 free re:Invent 2026 tickets to User Group members. This is your chance to share the story of how being part of your local User Group changed your path and potentially experience re:Invent firsthand. AWS re:Invent 2026 (Nov. 30 – Dec. 4, Las Vegas, USA) is AWS's flagship conference that puts builders at the center of what's happening across cloud and AI. With 2,200+ sessions, keynotes, and hands-on labs, you can sharpen your skills, work through challenges, and understand what's changing and what it means for what you build next.

Behind every great AWS User Group is a leader who shows up for their community, and members who turn that experience into real outcomes. This campaign celebrates those stories. Tell us how the AWS User Group that you're a member of made a difference in your life, and your story could be chosen and win you the opportunity to experience re:Invent in Las Vegas this December.
We want to hear the real, personal moments and the impact they had:
- Did community connections or skills you learned help you land a job or a promotion?
- Did you learn about an AWS service or building pattern through the community that helped you?
- How did finding a community of peers give you friendship, mentorship, or a sense of belonging?
- Do you have a personal or professional turning point that your User Group connected you to?
The strongest stories will be featured in Builder Center content as a lasting showcase of community impact.

25 qualifying applicants will each receive a free full re:Invent 2026 ticket (travel expenses - hotel and transportation - are not included). Share your story and you could be in.
🎯 How to participate in three steps
- Join the AWS User Groups space on Builder Center
- Earn Hello World and Photo Finisher badges by updating your Builder Center profile: complete the About section and upload a photo (check here how )
- Submit your application through this form between September 21 and October 4, 2026.
✅ Eligibility
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a Builder Center profile
- Must be a member of an AWS User Group (Meetup.com, Facebook, Connpass, WeChat links)
- Must be a member of the AWS User Groups space on Builder Center
- Must not reside in restricted regions (see Terms )
- You must have a valid visa to enter the US for re:Invent in December 2026
🏆 How winners are selected
Applications will be evaluated on two criteria:
- Authenticity and impact of your story: Judges look for genuine, personal narratives that show how being part of an AWS User Group has made a real difference, whether through career growth, new skills, community connections, or personal development.
- Participation requirements met: You must have completed all engagement actions: being a member of a local AWS User Group, joining the AWS User Group space, interacting with this article, and submitting a fully completed Pulse form.
