Recently, I had the opportunity to attend AWS Summit Bengaluru, where I experienced firsthand how Amazon Web Services is empowering the global builder community through initiatives like AWS Builder Center.
While exploring sessions, interacting with community members, and learning about builder-focused programs, one thought stayed in my mind:
How can I contribute to this ecosystem, even on a small scale?
That thought eventually became the foundation of BuilderFest 2026 - an overnight hackathon organized by AWS Student Builder Group at Lovely Professional University.
The vision behind BuilderFest was simple:
Bring passionate student builders under one roof and create an environment where they could collaborate, experiment, learn, and build together.
The hackathon focused on practical innovation through tracks such as:
  • AI Study Assistant
  • GitHub Repo Simplifier
  • Smart Campus Solutions
  • Debugging Assistant
  • Open Innovation
More than just a competition, BuilderFest became a collaborative overnight building experience where students explored APIs, AI tools, cloud workflows, deployments, and real-world problem solving beyond classroom learning.
One of the most memorable parts of the event was watching participants continue building late into the night - debugging issues, discussing ideas, helping each other, and turning concepts into working projects.
BuilderFest 2026 also became an opportunity to introduce students to AWS Builder Center and encourage them to share their projects and experiences with the broader builder community.
I’m extremely grateful to Arkodyuti Saha, Nayoung Miller Won, Vishal Alhat, and Sumanth Janardhan for continuously encouraging me throughout my journey and inspiring me to support more builders within the community.
BuilderFest started as a simple idea after attending AWS Summit Bengaluru, but it became a reminder that even small community-driven initiatives can create meaningful impact.
This is just the beginning. 🚀
