Being an AWS Cloud Captain is not just about organizing events or hosting sessions.
It’s about building a community that helps people grow.
When I first joined the AWS Cloud Club at LPU, I thought leadership meant planning events, managing teams, and increasing participation. But over time, I realized that real impact goes far beyond that.
It’s about:
- Creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions
- Encouraging peers to build and experiment, not just learn theory
- Connecting people with opportunities they might not find on their own
As Cloud Captain, my focus shifted from just “running events” to enabling people.
Whether it was helping someone get started with AWS, guiding them through their first project, or simply motivating them to explore cloud, every small interaction contributed to building a stronger community.
Growing the club from 200 to 2000+ members was not just about numbers - it was about building a space where students could learn, collaborate, and support each other.
Now, as an AWS Student Builder Campus Leader, I want to take this forward and continue building a culture of learning and sharing.
Because in the end,
a strong community doesn’t just grow - it helps everyone in it grow.
