In their quest to adopt AI, organizations spend immense effort to transform data and create clean data that can be used for AI applications.
However, are they reusable without creating more data products of similar nature?
To ensure that the data created is reusable and we do not develop similar data again and again, FAIR Data principles have to be adapted.
FAIR stands for Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. Let me use an analogy to explain it in simple terms:
- Suppose I create a data of Indian states, it must be Findable.
- Once the data is identified it must be Accessible to create the Data of Country India.
- This data must be Interoperable to create a data of world map.
- Once world map data is created it must be reusable to create a data of world population, world civilization, world literacy rate etc.
I presented this analogy during my recent presentation at AWS Community Day 2025 Chennai in St. Joseph Group of Institutions, so I thought of sharing this with larger audience.
