This Challenge is the warm-up for the Agent Experience Hackathon: Strands Decider, which also kicks off this weekend.
Challenge Period: Leave a comment on the Challenge article between October 16, 2026 at 12:00 AM PT through October 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM PT.
Challenge terms and conditions
By participating in the Challenge, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the AWS Builder Terms (available at builder.aws.com/terms). NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
During the Challenge Period, be one of the first 100 participants to submit a qualifying entry and complete the requirements described below for a chance to win $100 in AWS Promotional Credits. All qualifying entries are also entered into a random drawing for one of ten (10) AWS Builder Backpacks. Participation in the Challenge will require you to (1) have a builder.aws.com profile and (2) leave a qualifying comment on the AWS Builder Center Challenge article.
To the extent that a participant uses an AWS account under the AWS Free Tier, the AWS Free Tier Terms (available at https://aws.amazon.com/free/terms/) will apply. For the avoidance of doubt, you acknowledge that participants registering for the AWS Free Tier may be required to provide credit card information in order to complete their AWS account; however, such accounts will not convert to a billable AWS account, and AWS will not otherwise charge your credit card for any payments relating to your AWS account, without your consent.
Eligibility
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a builder.aws.com profile to be eligible for participation in the Challenge. Excludes individuals living in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Vietnam, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, the so-called Donetsk People's Republic region (DNR), the so-called Luhansk People's Republic region (LNR) and the region of Crimea. AWS, Amazon, employees of AWS, employees of Amazon, and their immediate family members and members of their households are not eligible to participate. Limit one entry per person.
Submission requirements
To enter, participants must complete the following steps before the end of the Challenge Period (October 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM PT):
- Leave a comment on the AWS Builder Center Challenge article that meets the Comment Requirements below. In your comment, cover each of the following points: the one repeated decision you would hand to an agent and the workflow it lives in; what the agent would need to get right for you to trust it with that decision; and one sentence on how you would know it was working.
- Complete your Builder Profile, including a profile image, country, a completed About section, and one social link (for example, LinkedIn or X).
Comment requirements
Your comment must be left on the Challenge article between October 16, 2026 at 12:00 AM PT through October 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM PT. Entries that do not meet these requirements may be disqualified in AWS's sole discretion. Your comment must address each of the following points:
- Keep it to a few sentences of substance: at least 2 to 3 sentences that another builder could learn from. One-line or generic comments do not qualify.
- A note on quality: entries are read by a person. Low-effort or copy-paste entries posted just to earn a badge do not qualify. Write something another builder would actually find useful.
- The one repeated decision you would hand to an agent, and the workflow it lives in.
- What the agent would need to get right for you to trust it with that decision.
- One sentence on how you would know it was working.
Evaluation process & judging criteria
Within two (2) weeks of the Challenge Period end date, AWS will evaluate all eligible entries. Entries will be evaluated by a combination of AI tools and subject matter experts.
Evaluation Standard: Each entry is evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis. An entry must achieve Pass in all of the following categories to be eligible for a prize:
Category 1: Completeness (Pass/Fail Gate)
Did the participant leave a comment that covers everything the Challenge asked for? The comment must be posted within the Challenge Period and must address all required points listed under Entry Requirements and Comment Requirements. The participant's Builder Profile must include a profile image, country, a completed About section, and one social link. A Fail in Completeness disqualifies the entry from further evaluation.
Category 2: Substance & Relevance
Does the comment meet the Challenge Prompt? The comment must respond to the Challenge Prompt and provide at least 2 to 3 sentences of substance that another builder could learn from. One-line, generic, low-effort, or copy-paste comments posted just to earn a badge do not qualify.
Category 3: Profile Completion
Did the participant complete their Builder Profile? The participant's builder.aws.com profile must include a profile image, country, a completed About section, and one social link (for example, LinkedIn or X).
Prize Eligibility Cap (AWS credits): Only the first one hundred (100) entries that achieve a Pass in all three categories above will be eligible for the $100 AWS Promotional Credits prize. Once one hundred (100) qualifying entries have been identified, no further credit prizes will be awarded, regardless of whether additional entries also achieve a Pass. All entries that achieve a Pass in all three categories, including those beyond the first 100, are eligible for the random drawing for an AWS Builder Backpack.
Prizes
The first 100 entries that achieve a Pass in all three judging categories are eligible for a prize consisting of $100 in AWS Promotional Credits. Credit prizes are awarded in the order in which qualifying entries were received.
In addition, AWS will select ten (10) winners at random from all entries that achieve a Pass in all three judging categories, and each will receive one (1) AWS Builder Backpack.
A participant may receive at most one (1) AWS Promotional Credits prize and may also be eligible for the random Backpack drawing. AWS Promotional Credits are subject to the terms and conditions set forth at https://aws.amazon.com/awscredits/. AWS Promotional Credits have no monetary value. AWS reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) for an item of comparable or greater value, at AWS's sole discretion.
Winner notification & prize delivery
If you are selected as a winner, AWS will contact you using the email address associated with your builder.aws.com profile. Winners will be notified via an updated article published to AWS Builder Center.
Failure to provide the requested information or to respond to communications about the Challenge within a reasonable period of time, as determined by AWS in its sole discretion, may result in the forfeiture of the prize.
Additional terms
Entries that do not meet the requirements set forth in these Terms and Conditions may be disqualified in AWS's sole discretion.
By accepting the prize, you confirm that your receipt is neither prohibited nor inconsistent with any applicable laws, regulations, or binding orders, including applicable ethics or procurement rules, your receipt will not create a conflict of interest for AWS, and there are no ongoing competitive procurements for which your receipt of this benefit could conflict with AWS's participation in the competition.
The following personal information will be collected by AWS for the Challenge solely for the purposes of administering the Challenge and verifying participant eligibility: name and email address. Failure to provide all necessary personal information may result in participants' participation in the Challenge being deemed ineligible. AWS handles your information in accordance with the AWS Privacy Notice (https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/).
A winners list will be available at builder.aws.com for up to a year after the date on which the article announcing the winners is published to the AWS Builder Center. Acceptance of prize by the winner constitutes permission for AWS to use winners' names or likenesses, and city, state or province, and country, if submitted to AWS, for any disclosures required by law, including a winners list, and for advertising and promotional purposes relating to the Challenge in any and all media now or hereafter devised, worldwide in perpetuity (or to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law), without additional compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.
By submitting your entry to the Challenge, you represent and warrant that your entry does not: (i) perform or promote activities that are illegal; (ii) violate or infringe the intellectual property, proprietary, or other rights of others; (iii) perform or promote activities that are offensive or disparaging in any manner; or (iv) cause harm to others or to AWS's operations or reputation.
The Challenge is sponsored by AWS. AWS reserves the right to cancel or modify the Challenge at any time and for any reason. AWS and its affiliates and licensors will not be liable to you under any cause of action or theory of liability relating to the Challenge, even if a party has been advised of the possibility of such damages, for (a) indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or (b) lost profits, revenues, customers, opportunities, or goodwill. In any case, AWS and its affiliates' and licensors' aggregate liability under these Terms and Conditions will not exceed USD $100. The limitations in this paragraph shall apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Tax obligations
Winners are responsible for all federal, state, local, and foreign taxes associated with accepting and using a prize. Amazon may withhold taxes from prize payments where required by law.
Before receiving any prize, winners must provide all requested tax documentation (including IRS Form W-9 for U.S. persons or the appropriate IRS Form W-8 series for non-U.S. persons) to Amazon's prize administrator.
Winners should consult their own tax advisors regarding the tax consequences of accepting a prize in their jurisdiction.
