My AWS Journey Begins: Learning Cloud Computing as a Beginner

Exploring cloud computing, discovering AWS services, and taking my first steps towards becoming a cloud professional.

My First Steps into the World of AWS

Hello, AWS Community! šŸ‘‹
I'm a college student who has recently started exploring the world of cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
As a beginner, I initially found cloud computing a little confusing. I had questions like: What exactly is cloud computing? Why do companies use AWS? How do applications run on cloud servers?
As I started learning, I realized that cloud computing is an exciting technology that allows people and businesses to access computing resources over the internet without having to manage all the physical infrastructure themselves.
What I Am Learning About Cloud Computing
I'm beginning my AWS learning journey by exploring some fundamental concepts.
  1. Amazon EC2
Amazon EC2 provides virtual servers in the cloud. Instead of buying and maintaining a physical server, we can use an EC2 instance to run applications.
  1. Amazon S3
Amazon S3 is a storage service that allows us to store and retrieve files and other data. It can be used to store images, documents, backups, and website content.
  1. AWS IAM
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) helps manage who can access AWS resources and what actions they are allowed to perform.
  1. Cloud Security
I'm also learning why security matters in cloud computing and why permissions, access control, and responsible resource management are important.
These are just the beginning of my learning journey, and I look forward to understanding these services more deeply through hands-on practice.
šŸŽÆ My Learning Goals
As I continue learning AWS, I want to:
Build a strong foundation in cloud computing.
Practise using AWS services through hands-on labs.
Build real-world projects to apply my knowledge.
Prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
Connect with other learners and learn from experienced cloud professionals.
I believe that consistent practice and curiosity are important when learning a new technology.
šŸ’” A Lesson for Fellow Beginners
One thing I'm learning is that you don't need to know everything before you start.
It's completely fine to begin with basic questions, make mistakes, and learn gradually. Every expert was once a beginner.
My plan is to focus on understanding concepts rather than simply memorizing definitions. I also want to document my progress and share what I learn along the way.
šŸ¤ Let's Learn Together!
I'm excited to be part of the AWS community and connect with people who are passionate about cloud computing.
If you're also beginning your AWS journey, I'd love to hear from you!
What was the first AWS service you learned, and what advice would you give someone just starting out?
Let's learn, build, and grow together! šŸš€
