The 5-Minute AWS Trick That Saved Me Hours

I spent an entire afternoon debugging why my Lambda function kept timing out. The code was fine. The timeout was set to 300 seconds. Nothing made sense.
Then I checked the CloudWatch logs and saw the real culprit: my S3 bucket was in a different region than the function. Every call was crossing regions, adding latency I hadn't accounted for.
Fix: Move the bucket. Done in 2 minutes.
The lesson? When AWS misbehaves, check the boring stuff first ā regions, VPCs, security groups ā before you start rewriting code. Half the time the answer is in a setting you forgot you changed.
