The atmosphere was electric—an absolute classic hackathon vibe. Stepping into the arena, I knew it was going to be a great experience, but the face-to-face interactions I had truly made it unforgettable.
A major highlight of the event was crossing paths with the educators and developers I’ve learned so much from over the years. Meeting Kunal in person was fantastic—and yes, I absolutely had to ask him the infamous question! I also had the great opportunity to connect with Saiyam and Piyush. Their content and guidance have helped me through countless coding roadblocks in the past, so getting to meet them and talk shop was a surreal moment.
On the technical front, discussing my project with the AWS mentors significantly broadened my horizons. Their direct input gave me a much clearer perspective on the depth of AWS services and their real-world benefits. I walked away with a solid understanding of cloud architecture and how these specific tools are going to be crucial for my future builds.
Beyond the tech stack, the warmth of the community is what really stood out. Conversing with Jessica and Lindsey was a genuinely wholesome experience. They had this incredibly accepting and guiding energy—it honestly felt just like talking to a favorite class teacher from the past who simply wants to see you succeed and point you in the right direction.
Ultimately, this hackathon was a wonderful, grounding experience. It fueled my drive to build, learn, and connect, and I am already looking forward to participating in many more events exactly like this one.
