From Ideas to Impact: My Experience at AWS Build Days Delhi | Bharat Builds Tour 2026

AWS Build Days Delhi was an incredible experience! I was truly impressed by Kunal Kushwaha’s dedication and hard work throughout the event. The BTs and the entire AWS team, including the speakers and mentors, brought outstanding energy, expertise, and a willingness to share their knowledge. Their guidance, passion, and collaborative spirit made the event inspiring for every aspiring builder. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and see how experienced professionals turn ideas into real-world .

From Ideas to Impact: My Experience at AWS Build Days Delhi | Bharat Builds Tour 2026

Some events teach you technology. Others change the way you think about building with it. AWS Build Days Delhi was an opportunity to experience both.
On 10 October 2026, I had the opportunity to attend AWS Build Days Delhi, part of the Bharat Builds Tour, organised by WeMakeDevs in collaboration with AWS Builder Center. The event brought together students, developers, technology enthusiasts, mentors, and builders who share a common interest: learning, creating, and using technology to solve meaningful problems.
For me, this was more than just attending a tech event. It was an opportunity to step outside my usual learning environment, connect with the developer community, learn from experienced professionals, and understand how ideas can gradually become real-world solutions.

The Energy of the Developer Community

One of the first things that stood out to me was the atmosphere. Being surrounded by people who are curious about technology, eager to learn, and willing to experiment creates a different kind of motivation.
As a student exploring the world of technology, I believe learning becomes much more meaningful when we combine what we study with practical experiences and conversations with people who are building things.
The event provided a space to meet fellow builders, exchange perspectives, ask questions, and understand the different paths people are taking in the technology ecosystem.
The Bharat Builds Tour represented an important idea for me: building technology is not just about writing code. It is also about collaboration, curiosity, problem-solving, and learning from one another.

Learning Beyond Tutorials

The day featured opening remarks by Kunal Kushwaha, a welcome session from Jessica Gilmore of AWS, and a panel discussion featuring Kunal Kushwaha, Saiyam Pathak, and Piyush Garg.
These sessions were an opportunity to think about the broader developer journey: how we learn, how we approach technical challenges, and how we turn our knowledge into something useful.
One of the highlights of the agenda was the hands-on workshop on Strands Agents, led by Chanpreet Singh and Shweta Chopra.
Agent-based AI is an exciting area because it explores how AI systems can go beyond generating responses and help coordinate steps toward accomplishing tasks. Learning about these concepts in a practical setting can help developers better understand the possibilities and challenges involved in building AI-powered applications.
What I appreciated most about the event format was its emphasis on practical learning. Workshops, build time, mentorship, and project feedback offer a valuable complement to online tutorials and documentation.
Technology evolves quickly, and I believe developers need to keep experimenting, asking questions, and building projects rather than limiting themselves to theoretical knowledge.

Environmental Hacks: Building with a Purpose

The wider hackathon, Environmental Hacks, powered by AWS Builder Center, added another important dimension to the experience.
Environmental challenges affect communities in different ways, and technology can help us explore potential solutions through data, automation, cloud infrastructure, and artificial intelligence.
However, building something meaningful starts with understanding the problem.
A promising environmental solution should consider the people who will use it, the data it depends on, its practical limitations, and how its impact could eventually be measured.
This is what makes a purpose-driven hackathon interesting. It encourages developers to think beyond the question, “Can we build this?” and consider a more important one: “Could this solve a real problem?”
Cloud platforms and AI tools can make experimentation easier, but the value of a project ultimately depends on the problem it addresses and the quality of the solution.
That is a mindset I want to carry forward in my own development journey.

Why Mentorship and Feedback Matter

Another valuable part of the event was the opportunity for participants to build during the day with AWS mentors available to help.
When working on a project, it is easy to become stuck on a technical issue or continue following an approach that may not be ideal. A conversation with someone experienced can help identify a better direction, clarify a concept, or reveal a consideration that was previously overlooked.
Feedback is especially useful during a hackathon because time is limited. It encourages teams to prioritise essential features, explain their ideas clearly, and improve their solutions before presenting them.
I see mentorship as an important part of the developer ecosystem. Documentation teaches us how technologies work, but thoughtful feedback can help us understand how to apply them more effectively.

The People Made the Experience Special

Beyond the sessions and technical learning, the people were a major part of the experience.
Meeting fellow students and developers, exchanging ideas, and taking photographs with people I met during the event made the day memorable.
Community events remind me that technology is not built in isolation. Behind every project are people who share knowledge, challenge assumptions, offer feedback, and help each other move forward.
These conversations can also lead to future collaborations, project ideas, and friendships within the developer community.
The photographs from the day capture some of these moments, but the most valuable part of the experience was the opportunity to learn and connect with people who are equally excited about technology.

What I Took Away from AWS Build Days Delhi

Here are five lessons I want to carry into my future projects:
1. Build to learn. Reading about a technology is useful, but experimenting with it helps turn concepts into practical understanding.
2. Start with the problem. A strong project begins with a clear problem statement and a genuine understanding of the people affected by it.
3. Ask for feedback early. Mentors and fellow developers can help identify weaknesses and improve an idea before too much time is invested in the wrong direction.
4. Treat collaboration as a skill. Sharing ideas, communicating clearly, and learning from teammates are essential parts of building successful projects.
5. Keep improving after the event. The real value of a hackathon comes from what we continue to build, learn, and improve once the event is over.
These lessons are relevant not only to hackathons but also to personal projects, internships, open-source contributions, and a long-term career in technology.

Looking Ahead

I am grateful to WeMakeDevs, AWS, and the people who contributed to making AWS Build Days Delhi a learning opportunity for the developer community.
Events like these encourage students to move beyond passive learning and start thinking like builders. They create opportunities to explore emerging technologies, receive feedback, meet like-minded people, and discover new ways to approach real-world challenges.
For me, this experience was another step in a continuing journey of learning, experimenting, and building.
My next goal is to apply what I learn to practical projects, improve my technical skills, and focus on creating solutions that are useful beyond a demonstration.
Because the real purpose of technology is not simply to build something impressive. It is to build something that matters.
From learning to building. From ideas to impact. That is the mindset I am taking forward from AWS Build Days Delhi.
