Why Cloud Computing matters today (and my personal motivation to start with AWS)
why Cloud Computing has become such a fundamental pillar in modern software development
Hi everyone! I wanted to publish why Cloud Computing has become such a fundamental pillar in modern software development, and what pushed me to start this journey.
Why Cloud is essential now
A few years ago, deploying applications required managing local servers, physical hardware, and manual scaling. Today, cloud architecture has completely shifted how we build software:
- Scalability and Resilience, services can instantly adapt to traffic demands without infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Focus on Code, tools like serverless computing allow developers to focus on writing business logic rather than configuring servers.
- Global Reach, deploying an app to multiple regions around the world now takes minutes instead of months.
My personal motivation
As a software engineering student, I realized that writing clean code and building web applications is only half of the equation. Understanding where and how that code runs in production is just as critical.
I decided to start learning AWS because I want to bridge the gap between application development and cloud infrastructure. My goal is to build reliable systems, learn best practices for deployment, and earn my first AWS certification along the way.
Looking forward
Starting with cloud concepts can feel broad because of how fast the ecosystem evolves, but taking the first step is what counts. I’m looking forward to learning from this community and sharing my technical progress as I build more projects.
To all developers and students here: What was the main reason you decided to specialize in AWS?
