Hey Fellow Builders! 👋
As a tech student, I always wondered how websites and apps actually run on the internet. Earlier, I thought Traditional Hosting (like renting a fixed server from GoDaddy or Hostinger) was the only way. But ever since I joined the AWS Builder Center, my perspective has totally changed!
Here is a quick look at why AWS Cloud Hostin g feels like a superpower compared to traditional hosting:
  • Pay-as-you-go Pricing: In traditional hosting, we have to pay a fixed monthly or yearly fee even if our app gets zero traffic. With AWS, we only pay for the exact seconds our code runs.
  • Instant Scalability: If my college project suddenly goes viral, traditional servers can crash due to high load. AWS can scale up automatically to handle millions of users in seconds.
  • Global Reach: AWS lets me deploy my application in multiple regions worldwide with just a few clicks, making it faster for global users.
As a student, the best part is the AWS Student Rewards program which gives us free AWS credits and Skill Builder Premium access to learn these technologies without spending money.
I am super excited to build my first project on AWS EC2 and S3 soon!
