From Campus Leader to Las Vegas: I’m Heading to AWS re:Invent 2026!
I am incredibly excited to announce my selection as an AWS All Builders Welcome (ABW) Grant recipient! Read about my journey building serverless GenAI platforms and what I am most eager to explore at re:Invent 2026.
I still remember the exact moment I opened my inbox and saw the acceptance email. I am absolutely thrilled to share that I have been selected as a recipient of the AWS All Builders Welcome (ABW) Grant, which means I am officially heading to Las Vegas for AWS re:Invent 2026!
Receiving this grant is a massive honor. The ABW program is dedicated to supporting underrepresented technologists in the early years of their careers, and being recognized by a community I admire so much feels incredibly validating.
Building with Purpose: My AWS Journey
My fascination with the cloud started with a simple realization: the ability to scale intelligence is just as important as the AI models themselves.
As an AWS Student Builder Campus Leader at Lewis University, I’ve had the privilege of organizing events and hands-on workshops for over 250 students. Introducing my peers to cloud infrastructure, Amazon Q Developer, and SageMaker has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my academic career. Teaching others forces you to deeply understand the "why" behind the technology, not just the "how."
But I also love getting my hands dirty. Recently, my team and I competed in the AWS AI Ideas Competition, placing in the top 3% globally out of over 10,000 engineering teams.
"We architected Gro-Sential AI, an event-driven serverless platform utilizing Amazon Bedrock, AWS Lambda, Amazon Rekognition, and DynamoDB."
Balancing that project with my professional work—like engineering a 5-agent stateful workflow using LangGraph at ULIMO and building LLM evaluation frameworks at Handshake—has shown me the true power of scalable AI.
What I'm Chasing at re:Invent
While building locally and at internships has been amazing, I know there is so much more to learn at the enterprise level. In Las Vegas, I am specifically looking to dive deep into:
- Advanced Generative AI & Agentic Workflows: I want to see the latest enhancements to Amazon Bedrock and learn how experts are tackling LLM hallucination and multi-agent orchestration.
- Event-Driven Architectures: Exploring new ways to optimize serverless scale using AWS Lambda and DynamoDB for high-throughput AI inference.
- Community: I cannot wait to meet fellow ABW cohort members, AWS Heroes, and builders who share this same obsession with cloud computing and AI.
To the AWS All Builders Welcome Grant team—thank you. Thank you for investing in the next generation of builders and making this space more inclusive.
If you’re going to be at re:Invent 2026, building cool things with GenAI, or just want to chat about LLM evaluation and ML workflows, let’s connect! See you in Vegas! ☁️🚀
