My Preparation Journey for the AWS Solutions Architect Exam
A practical look at the lessons, strategies, and mindset behind preparing for the AWS Solutions Architect exam, with a focus on building real-world cloud architecture skills.
As I get closer to writing my AWS Solutions Architect exam, I’ve been reflecting on the preparation journey so far.
I started by going through the learning materials available on AWS Skill Builder, focusing on understanding the concepts rather than simply trying to memorize answers. I also made sure to go through the different domain reviews so I could identify areas where I was confident and areas where I needed more revision.
One of the most valuable parts of my preparation has been working through practice questions. They have helped me become more comfortable with the way AWS questions are structured and, more importantly, have challenged me to think about why a particular solution is the best choice for a given scenario.
I’ve also been revisiting the major areas covered by the exam, paying attention to how different AWS services work together and when one architectural approach would be more appropriate than another.
At this stage, my goal is not just to pass the exam. I want the preparation to strengthen my understanding of AWS architecture and help me make better technical decisions when working on real-world cloud environments.
There is still some revision to do, but I’m looking forward to putting everything I’ve learned to the test.
Once I write the exam, I’ll come back with another article sharing the outcome, what the exam experience was like, and some lessons from the journey.
One step closer. ☁️🚀
