Building Small, Shipping Fast

Sometimes the best approach is to build a small version first, make it work, and then improve it step by step.

What I've found when developing on AWS is that forward progress doesn't necessarily mean starting large - at times the best strategy is to construct a small version first, get it working, and then improve it one step at a time.
It is easier to do this by making use of AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch since you can begin with a basic arrangement and then scale up when it's necessary. Rather than spending a lot of time planning out the ideal architecture, I concentrate on getting a working version live, testing it, and gaining experience from actual use.
As for new developers, stick to simplicity in your first attempt. Construct the smallest piece that is useful, put it into use, and then make improvements according to what you have learned. The act of releasing it teaches you more than waiting until everything is perfect.
