Introducing feature-level notifications with API and CloudFormation filters on Capabilities by Region in AWS Builder Center

Starting today, builders can get notified about a single feature in any AWS Region, including future ones, and filter 19,000+ API operations and 5,000+ AWS CloudFormation resource types down to the differences between Regions.

Director, AWS Builder Center

Filter API operations and CloudFormation resources

The API operations  tab lists more than 19,000 operations and the CloudFormation resources tab lists more than 5,000 resource types. Both now have two filters under the search box. Availability narrows by status, Available or Unavailable, and you can select either or both. Region comparison narrows by how your Regions differ. Show all capabilities is the default. Show only common across selected regions keeps the rows with the same status in every Region you have selected. Show only differences between selected regions keeps the rows that do not match, which is the quickest answer to what you give up by building in one Region instead of another.
Common means the same status, not available. A resource type missing from all of your selected Regions counts as common, so add Availability Available if that is not what you want. Both filters stack with each other and with search.

Notify me on a service, or on one feature

Select Notify me on the Services and features tab. A bell appears in every cell where a capability has not arrived yet, and a new column, All regions (incl. future), is added at the end. Select a bell and you are set, with no save step. Select the same bell again to stop.
A bell on a service row covers every feature underneath it in that Region. A bell on a feature row covers that feature alone, so waiting on one Amazon Bedrock feature in one Region is now a single selection. A lighter bell means something broader already covers it, either the filled bell on the service row above or the All regions column. Signing up requires a Builder ID, which is free.

All regions, including future ones

The last column covers Regions AWS has not launched yet. Use it when you want to hear about a capability wherever it goes next. It is all or nothing. While it is on, that row's individual Region bells lock. Turn it off to go back to picking Regions one at a time.
Selecting it also replaces the individual Region sign-ups you already had on that row, and turning it off later does not bring them back. This is the step with no second chance. Decide between All regions and specific Regions before you set it up.

Notifications and managing them

You learn when a capability you track becomes available in a Region you track. It shows up as an in-app notification in Builder Center and in a weekly email digest with links back to the row. If nothing you track moved that week, no email is sent. Where two of your notifications overlap, you get one alert, not two.
Manage notifications, under Actions, lists everything you track with search and a way to remove any of it. It is the complete list. The table only shows the Regions currently in your picker, so anything you track in a Region you have since removed is still running.
