Getting Started with AWS: Building a Foundation in Cloud Computing.

As a BTech student, I am beginning my journey into cloud computing with AWS. This post shares my understanding of AWS fundamentals, its role in modern application development, and my goals for developing practical cloud skills.

Getting Started with AWS: Building a Foundation in Cloud Computing

Cloud computing has become an important part of modern software development, enabling applications to be built, deployed, and scaled without relying entirely on traditional physical infrastructure.
As a BTech student, I have started exploring Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop a strong foundation in cloud computing and understand how cloud technologies are used to solve real-world problems.

Why AWS?

AWS provides a wide range of cloud services that support application development, data storage, databases, security, networking, and deployment. Learning these services can help me understand how modern applications are designed and delivered.
Some areas I am interested in exploring include:
  • Compute – Running applications and workloads in the cloud
  • Storage – Managing and storing data securely
  • Databases – Working with cloud-based database solutions
  • Networking – Understanding how cloud resources communicate
  • Security – Managing identities, permissions, and secure access
  • Serverless Computing – Building applications without managing servers
  • Cloud Deployment – Deploying and managing applications efficiently

My Learning Approach

I believe that cloud computing is best learned through a combination of fundamentals and hands-on practice. My goal is to gradually move from understanding individual AWS services to building small, practical projects using multiple services together.
I also want to learn how AWS can be integrated with technologies such as Python, databases, web applications, and machine learning.

My Goal

My long-term goal is to develop practical cloud skills that I can apply to academic projects, hackathons, and real-world applications. I hope to continuously learn from the AWS community, experiment with new services, and share my learning experiences along the way.
This is the beginning of my AWS journey, and I look forward to learning, building, and contributing to the cloud community.
