My AWS Learning Journey: From Theory to Building

I’m currently learning AWS alongside my backend development journey with Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.
So far, I’ve been exploring core AWS services and trying to understand not just what each service does, but when and why I would actually use it in a real application.
A few things I’m focusing on:
- EC2 for running backend applications
- RDS for managed relational databases
- IAM for understanding access and permissions
- CloudWatch for monitoring applications and infrastructure
- VPC and networking fundamentals for understanding how services communicate
One thing I’ve realized while learning cloud is that memorizing services isn't enough. The real learning happens when you try to connect them into an actual architecture.
My goal is to gradually take my Spring Boot projects from running locally to being deployed and monitored in a proper cloud environment.
Still learning, still experimenting, and looking forward to building more with AWS. 🚀
