One major advantage of EC2 is that we don't need to maintain physical hardware. We can create a server whenever we need one and remove it when we don't.
EC2 is also useful because we can:
- Choose the operating system we want.
- Select the required CPU and memory.
- Increase or decrease resources depending on our requirements.
- Connect to the server remotely.
- Host applications and websites.
This helped me understand one of the main ideas behind cloud computing: using computing resources when we need them instead of owning the physical infrastructure ourselves.
Working with EC2 gave me a better understanding of how cloud servers work in real environments. I learned that launching a server is not just about creating a virtual machine. We also need to think about security, networking, access control, operating systems, and resource management.
As a beginner interested in Cloud and DevOps, EC2 has been a good starting point for understanding AWS infrastructure. My next goal is to learn how EC2 works together with services such as VPC, IAM, Load Balancer, Auto Scaling, and CloudWatch to build more reliable cloud applications
