Building a Scalable Web Application with EC2, Application Load Balancer, and Auto Scaling

Learn how Amazon EC2, Application Load Balancer, and Auto Scaling work together to build a scalable and highly available web application on AWS.

Building a Scalable Web Application with EC2, Application Load Balancer, and Auto Scaling

Introduction

When an application becomes popular, a single server may not be enough to handle increasing traffic. Cloud applications need to be designed so that they can handle changing workloads while maintaining availability.
AWS provides several services that can work together to solve this problem. Amazon EC2 provides compute capacity, an Application Load Balancer distributes incoming traffic, and EC2 Auto Scaling can automatically adjust the number of instances based on demand.
In this article, I will explain how these services work together to create a scalable and highly available web application architecture.

The Problem with a Single Server
