My AWS Learning Journey: Starting with Cloud Computing and Security
I’m beginning my AWS journey to understand cloud computing, core AWS services, and cloud security. In this article, I share my learning goals, the services I plan to explore, and what I hope to build along the way.
Starting My AWS Learning Journey
I am currently studying B.Tech in Computer Science, and I am interested in several areas of technology, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, AI/ML, and web development. Among these areas, cloud security is something I am particularly interested in exploring.
To build a stronger foundation in cloud technologies, I have decided to start learning Amazon Web Services (AWS). My goal is to understand how cloud platforms work, how applications are deployed, and how security is managed in a cloud environment.
Starting with the Basics
Since I am still a beginner in AWS, I want to start by understanding the fundamental concepts of cloud computing and the core AWS services.
Some of the services I plan to learn first are:
- IAM – Understanding users, roles, permissions, and access control.
- EC2 – Learning how virtual servers work in the cloud.
- S3 – Understanding cloud storage and object management.
- VPC – Learning about networking, subnets, security groups, and cloud infrastructure.
- EC2 – Learning how virtual servers work in the cloud.
- S3 – Understanding cloud storage and object management.
- VPC – Learning about networking, subnets, security groups, and cloud infrastructure.
Understanding these services will give me a strong foundation before moving toward more advanced AWS topics.
My Interest in Cloud Security
Security is one of the main reasons I am interested in AWS. As more applications and organizations move to the cloud, understanding how cloud resources are protected becomes increasingly important.
I want to learn about concepts such as identity and access management, secure networking, permissions, encryption, monitoring, and best practices for protecting cloud resources.
Learning Through Hands-On Practice
I believe that practical experience is just as important as theoretical knowledge. After learning the basics, I plan to work on AWS labs and small projects so that I can apply what I learn.
Instead of only reading about AWS services, I want to create and configure resources myself, understand how they work together, and learn from the problems I encounter.
My Goal
My goal is to gradually build practical AWS skills and develop a better understanding of cloud security. I know that becoming comfortable with cloud technologies takes time, so I want to keep learning step by step.
This is just the beginning of my AWS learning journey. I am excited to explore AWS, work on hands-on projects, and learn new concepts along the way.
