why AI can't count?
I found developing an AI chatbot form scratch and opensource libs that it can't count propperly the chatbot
Some time ago, I joined a hackathon developing a chatbot to run locally and only using a 3gb database. Then I found a bug, where the AI was answering querys that it didn't had the information for in the database, as it was an agent with a prompt my solution was modifying it to slop the product. But after that "fix" stoped answering like 80% of the queries (which before worked flawessly), 3 hours of my life trying to fix it with the prompt. Until I realized "what if I make a for to count the sources form database?" I did that and finally worked...I was atonished by how dumb the AI couldn't understand the difference between 0 and N sources. moral of the story, please allways check if an AI is capable of understanding or counting.
My conclusion is that AI is far more dumber that it appears to us. The human intervetion at the momment is key for any proyect.
