Perceptify — See How They See It

Turns thousands of YouTube comments into a clear picture of what the audience actually thinks. Mood, themes, reactions, and moments that resonated, all at a glance.

I built Perceptify as part of the Kiro Build Challenge conducted jointly by AWS Student Builder Group GEU and AWS Student Builder Group PIET.
Problem:
YouTube videos can have thousands of comments, but understanding what the audience actually thinks means digging through them manually. A video summary tells you what the creator said, not how viewers reacted, questioned, or responded to it.
Solution:
I built Perceptify, a Chrome extension that analyzes a video's context and community discussion to show its audience mood, sentiment, major themes, influential opinions, recurring reactions, and reaction moments. It also helps viewers see whether the community is supporting, questioning, or pushing back against what the video presents, using engagement as a signal to give more weight to opinions that generated real interaction.
Built With:
Kiro AI IDE, Chrome Extension (Manifest V3), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, FastAPI, and Gemini Flash model.

What I Built:
Perceptify turns a busy YouTube comment section into a clear picture of audience perception, helping viewers understand not only what a video says, but how people received it.
