Document Authenticity Verification

Document Authenticity Verification

The Document Authenticity Verification System is a full-stack web application designed to help users verify the integrity of digital documents and detect whether AI generated fake image & Video, Gov authorised Document like voterID, Adhaar Card, etc The system uses SHA-256 cryptographic hashing to generate a unique digital fingerprint for uploaded documents. Users can securely register, log in, upload documents, and later verify them by comparing the document's current hash with its previously stored hash.

Document Authenticity Verification System — Built for Kiro Build Challenge

OVERVIEW

The Document Authenticity Verification System is a full-stack platform for verifying digital document integrity and identifying potentially manipulated or AI-generated media. It provides users with a secure workflow to upload, analyze, manage, and verify digital files.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Digital documents and media(AI generated fake images & Videos which spread wrong information) that can be easily modified, duplicated, or manipulated, making manual verification difficult. Users need a simple and reliable way to check whether a document or file has remained unchanged and identify suspicious digital content.

SOLUTION & WHAT WE BUILT

We built a secure web-based verification platform with:
  • User registration and JWT authentication
  • Secure document upload and management
  • SHA-256 hash generation and comparison
  • Document integrity verification
  • Verification status and reports
  • User-specific document history
  • Modern React dashboard
  • FastAPI REST backend
  • Secure database and file management
The system generates a cryptographic fingerprint of a file and compares it during verification to detect changes.

HOW WE USED KIRO

Kiro was used throughout the development process for:
  • Project architecture and planning
  • Frontend and backend development
  • API and authentication implementation
  • Verification logic
  • Prompt-driven feature development
  • Debugging and error fixing
  • UI refinement
  • Testing and documentation
Kiro enabled an iterative workflow where requirements were converted into working features, tested, refined, and improved through multiple development cycles.
