Overview

Generative AI is shifting from single-turn chat interfaces to autonomous agents capable of dynamic reasoning. Amazon Bedrock provides access to leading foundation models through a unified API, making it the ideal backbone for AI agent applications.

Architecture

  1. User Interface: Web frontend or API consumer.
  2. Agent Logic: LangChain orchestration hosted on AWS Fargate or Lambda.
  3. Foundation Model: Anthropic Claude 3 / Titan via Amazon Bedrock.
  4. Knowledge Base: Vector database (Amazon OpenSearch Serverless).

Key Implementation Steps

1. Setting Up Bedrock Access

Ensure your AWS IAM role has permissions for bedrock:InvokeModel. Initialize the client in Python:
1
2
3
4
5
import boto3
from langchain_aws import BedrockLLM

bedrock_runtime = boto3.client('bedrock-runtime', region_name='us-east-1')
llm = BedrockLLM(model_id="anthropic.claude-v2", client=bedrock_runtime)
