Building a Simple Data Pipeline with AWS Glue and Amazon S3

Modern applications generate large amounts of data, and processing this data efficiently is an important part of data engineering.
In this article, we will look at how Amazon S3 and AWS Glue can be used together to create a simple serverless data pipeline.

Architecture

The basic flow is:
CSV Data → Amazon S3 → AWS Glue Crawler → Glue Data Catalog → Data Analysis

1. Store the Data in Amazon S3

Amazon S3 can be used as the storage layer for our data.
For example, we can upload a CSV file containing employee information:
1
2
3
4
employee_id,name,department,salary
1,Alice,Engineering,75000
2,Bob,Marketing,65000
3,Charlie,Finance,70000
