My First AWS Learning Journey: From Curiosity to Cloud

My first step into AWS and cloud computing. In this article, I share what I learned about the role of cloud technology in modern applications and how I’m beginning my journey through learning, exploring, practicing, and building with AWS.

Starting something new always begins with curiosity.
For me, that curiosity is cloud computing and AWS.
As a student, I have worked with programming and different technologies, but I wanted to understand what happens behind an application after we write the code. This led me to explore AWS and the world of cloud computing.

What I Discovered

While beginning my AWS journey, I started understanding that cloud computing provides access to technology resources through the internet.
These resources can support different parts of an application, such as:
  • Compute – running applications and workloads
  • Storage – storing files and data
  • Databases – managing application data
  • Networking – connecting users and resources
  • Security – protecting applications and information

A Small Change in My Thinking

Earlier, I mainly thought about:
“How do I write the code?”
Now I am also beginning to think about:
“Where will the code run?”
“Where will the data be stored?”
“How will users access the application?”
“How can the application be made secure and scalable?”
These questions helped me understand why cloud knowledge is important for modern software development.

My Learning Approach

I don't want to simply memorize AWS service names.
My goal is to follow:
Learn → Explore → Practice → Build
I want to understand the concepts first, experiment with them, and eventually use AWS to build practical projects.

What's Next?

This is only the beginning of my AWS journey.
I am excited to continue learning, complete hands-on activities, explore different AWS services, and understand how cloud technology is used in real-world applications.
Every new concept is one more step toward becoming a better developer.
One concept. One experiment. One step closer to the cloud.
