From AI Student to Cloud Builder: My Journey into AWS
As an AI and Data Science student, I started learning about machine learning mainly through Python, datasets, and notebooks. Over time, I realized that building an AI model is only one part of creating a useful solution.
A real-world AI application also needs data storage, processing, deployment, scalability, and monitoring. This is what made me interested in cloud computing and AWS.
Why I Started Exploring AWS
When learning AI, it is easy to stay inside a Jupyter Notebook and focus only on model accuracy.
But I wanted to understand what happens after the model is built.
How can an application use the model?
How can data be stored securely?
How can an AI application handle more users?
How can a model be deployed and maintained?
These questions introduced me to the role of cloud platforms in AI development.
Connecting AI and AWS
I am currently building my AI and Data Science foundation step by step, from Python and SQL to machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and AI applications.
AWS gives me an opportunity to connect these skills with real cloud infrastructure.
For example, services such as Amazon S3 can be useful for data storage, AWS Lambda can support serverless application logic, and Amazon SageMaker AI can help with machine learning workflows.
Learning these services helps me think beyond:
“Can I train a model?”
and toward:
“Can I build a complete AI solution?”
What I Want to Build
As I continue learning, I want to work on projects that solve real problems instead of creating projects only for a portfolio.
I am particularly interested in areas such as accessibility, public safety, education, and emergency assistance.
My goal is to combine AI, software development, and cloud technologies to turn these ideas into practical systems.
My Learning Journey
My current learning path is:
Python → SQL → Machine Learning → Deep Learning → Generative AI → RAG → AI Agents → Cloud & Deployment
I know I still have a lot to learn, but AWS is helping me understand an important part of the journey: an AI model becomes much more useful when it can be turned into a reliable application.
For me, becoming an AI engineer is not just about knowing algorithms.
It is about learning how to take an idea from:
Problem → Data → Model → Application → Cloud → Real Users
And this is the direction I want to continue exploring.
