# My AWS Builder Journey: Learning Cloud by Building, Exploring, and Sharing

Starting my journey in cloud computing was both exciting and challenging. As a beginner, I wanted to understand how cloud technologies work in the real world rather than only learning concepts from books or videos.

## Introductions
My AWS journey started with the **AWS Builder ecosystem**, where I discovered a practical way to learn AWS services, complete hands-on activities, earn badges, and connect with the broader AWS community.
In this article, I want to share my experience as a beginner, what I learned, the challenges I faced, and how the AWS Builder journey changed the way I approach cloud learning.
## Why I Started Learning AWS
Coming from a computer applications background, I wanted to develop practical IT skills that could help me build a career in cloud and infrastructure.
Initially, AWS looked complicated. There were many services, technical terms, and concepts that I had never worked with before.
Instead of trying to learn everything at once, I decided to start step by step.
My approach was simple:
> **Learn → Practice → Build → Document → Repeat**
This helped me stay focused and gradually become more comfortable with cloud concepts.
## Discovering the AWS Builder Community
The AWS Builder ecosystem gave me an opportunity to explore AWS beyond traditional learning.
I started completing learning activities and working toward AWS badges. Each activity helped me understand a different part of the AWS ecosystem.
The badge system also gave me small milestones to work toward.
Rather than thinking:
**“I have to learn AWS completely.”**
I started thinking:
**“What can I learn and complete today?”**
That small change in mindset made learning easier.
## My Badge Journey
One of the most motivating parts of my journey was earning AWS badges.
I worked through different AWS learning activities and eventually completed **21 badges** as part of my learning journey.
Each badge represented more than just a digital achievement for me. It represented a topic that I had explored, an activity that I had completed, or a concept that I had spent time understanding.
The badges also helped me track my progress.
For anyone starting out, I would recommend treating badges as **learning milestones rather than the final goal**.
The real value comes from understanding the concepts behind them.
## What I Learned
During my AWS journey, I became more familiar with several important cloud concepts, including:
* Cloud computing fundamentals
* AWS services and their use cases
* Identity and access management concepts
* Storage concepts
* Compute concepts
* Cloud security fundamentals
* AWS architecture basics
* Hands-on learning through AWS resources
* The importance of documentation and troubleshooting
I also learned that cloud computing is not just about memorizing AWS service names.
