My First Step into AWS: Starting My Cloud Learning Journey
Starting my AWS journey as a Computer Science student. In this article, I share why I started learning AWS, my learning goals, and how I plan to build practical skills step by step through the AWS Builder Center community.
Starting something new can feel challenging, but it can also be exciting. As a Computer Science and Engineering student, I have always been interested in learning technologies that can help me build real-world applications. Recently, I started exploring AWS and decided to begin my cloud learning journey through the AWS Builder Center.
Why I Started Learning AWS
During my studies and projects, I came across many concepts related to web development, databases, software development, and deployment. I wanted to understand what happens behind the applications we use every day and how they can be made available to users.
AWS gives me an opportunity to explore these concepts practically. Instead of only learning theory, I want to understand how cloud services are used to build, deploy, and manage applications.
My Learning Goals
As a beginner, my goal is to first build a strong foundation. I want to learn about:
- Basic cloud computing concepts
- AWS core services
- Storage and databases
- Compute services
- Security fundamentals
- Deploying simple applications
- Building small practical projects

I believe that learning step by step is more important than trying to learn everything at once.
My Plan
I plan to learn consistently, practice what I learn, and document my progress. I also want to participate in AWS Builder Center activities, explore learning resources, and connect with other learners and developers.
One of my biggest goals is to turn my learning into practical projects. Even small projects can teach valuable lessons when we actually build and experiment with them.
Starting the Journey
This is just the beginning of my AWS journey. I know there will be concepts that take time to understand and challenges that I will need to overcome. But I believe consistency can make a big difference.
I am looking forward to learning, building, making mistakes, and improving along the way.
This is my first step into AWS, and I am excited to see where this journey takes me.
