My First Steps Toward Building AI/ML Applications on AWS
As an AI/ML student, I have been learning how machine learning projects can move beyond a local computer and become scalable applications using cloud platforms.
When I started learning AWS, I first focused on the basic cloud concepts. This helped me understand that cloud services provide the computing, storage, and infrastructure required for building real-world applications.
Connecting AWS with AI/ML
One of the most interesting parts of my AWS learning journey has been understanding how cloud services connect with machine learning.
Amazon S3 can be used to store datasets, files, and model-related resources. Amazon EC2 provides computing resources that can be used to run applications and experiments.
For machine learning workflows, Amazon SageMaker is especially interesting to me because it supports activities such as developing, training, and deploying machine learning models.
I am also exploring generative AI and learning about Amazon Bedrock, which can be used to build applications with foundation models.
What I want to build
My goal is not just to complete courses. I want to apply what I learn by building practical AI/ML projects.
Some ideas I would like to explore include:
- A machine learning prediction system
- An AI-powered data analysis application
- A generative AI application using foundation models
- A model deployment project using AWS
What I have learned so far
My biggest takeaway is that AI/ML and cloud computing complement each other.
Machine learning provides the intelligence, while cloud services can provide the infrastructure needed to store data, run workloads, and deploy applications at scale.
I am still at the beginning of my AWS journey, but I’m looking forward to learning more about SageMaker, generative AI, and building complete AI/ML projects on AWS.
