How I Started My AWS Cloud Journey as a Computer Science Student
Introduction
Hello everyone!
I am a Computer Science undergraduate with interests in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Software Development. Recently, I decided to begin my cloud computing journey using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This article marks the start of that journey, where I will share my learning experiences, challenges, and progress as I explore cloud technologies.
Why I Decided to Learn AWS
While working on programming projects and learning about AI and Machine Learning, I noticed that many modern applications rely heavily on cloud infrastructure.
Cloud platforms make it possible to deploy applications, store data, train machine learning models, and scale services efficiently.
I chose AWS because it is one of the most widely adopted cloud platforms and provides extensive learning resources for students and beginners.
My Current Learning Goals
My immediate goals are:
- Understand cloud computing fundamentals
- Learn the core AWS services
- Explore AWS Skill Builder learning paths
- Earn AWS Builder Center badges
- Prepare for AWS foundational certifications
- Build practical cloud-based projects
My Learning Roadmap
I plan to follow the following roadmap:
Phase 1: Cloud Fundamentals
- Understand cloud concepts
- Learn AWS global infrastructure
- Study AWS pricing and security basics
Phase 2: Core AWS Services
- Amazon EC2
- Amazon S3
- AWS IAM
- Amazon RDS
Phase 3: Certifications
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified AI Practitioner
Phase 4: Projects
- Deploy web applications on AWS
- Explore AI and Machine Learning services
- Build real-world cloud solutions
Challenges I Expect
As a beginner, I expect to face challenges in understanding cloud architecture, networking concepts, and deployment workflows.
However, I believe consistent learning, hands-on practice, and participation in the AWS Builder Community will help me grow steadily.
Looking Ahead
This article is the first step in my AWS learning journey.
Over the coming months, I plan to share what I learn, the projects I build, and the lessons I discover while exploring AWS.
I am excited to learn from the AWS community and connect with fellow builders.
Thank you for reading!
This is the first article in my AWS learning series. Future articles will cover AWS services, certifications, projects, and lessons learned along the way.
