AWS re 2026: Where Cloud and AI Build What’s Next

Every year, AWS re brings together builders, developers, architects, startups, and cloud enthusiasts to explore what is coming next in cloud technology. And AWS re 2026 is getting closer. From November 30 to December 4, 2026, AWS re will take place in Las Vegas, bringing together the global AWS community for five days of keynotes, technical sessions, workshops, hands-on experiences, and conversations around the future of cloud and AI.

2,200+ Sessions. One Huge Cloud Event.

One of the most exciting things about re 2026 is the scale.
AWS has announced more than 2,200 sessions, covering areas such as:
  • Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI
  • Cloud architecture
  • Security
  • Migration
  • Developer productivity
  • Databases
  • Serverless
  • Machine Learning
  • Containers
  • Data and analytics
Many sessions are designed to be interactive, including workshops, labs, chalk talks, demos, and technical deep dives.
For developers, this means re isn't simply about listening to announcements.
It's about building and learning by doing.

🤖 AI Will Be a Major Focus

Cloud computing is rapidly changing because of AI.
Generative AI, AI agents, foundation models, and AI-powered applications are changing how developers think about software architecture.
AWS re 2026 is positioned around this intersection of cloud + AI, with sessions and experiences designed to help builders understand how these technologies can be applied to real-world workloads.
The interesting question isn't only:
"What new AI service will AWS announce?"
It's also:
"What can developers actually build with it?"
That is where events like re become valuable for builders.

🛠️ From Announcement to Hands-On Building

One of the biggest differences between a normal technology announcement and re is the opportunity to experiment.
AWS describes experiences including:
Launch Sessions — explore newly announced services.
Builders' Sessions — discuss real architecture problems with practitioners.
Ask the Experts — interact directly with AWS experts.
500-Level Deep Dives — explore advanced technical concepts and research.
Hands-On Workshops and Labs — actually build with AWS technologies.
For someone learning AWS, this creates a powerful loop:
Learn → Build → Experiment → Ask → Improve

🔐 Security Gets Its Own Spotlight

Security is also a major part of re 2026.
AWS has announced that AWS re content will be integrated into re in 2026, with a dedicated security focus day on December 3.
As applications become more distributed and AI systems become more capable, security isn't something developers can simply add at the end.
It has to become part of the architecture from the beginning.

🌍 More Than Just Technology

re is also about the AWS community.
Developers and cloud professionals from different industries come together to share architectures, experiences, challenges, and lessons learned.
AWS also highlights community meetups and networking opportunities throughout the event.
Sometimes the most valuable takeaway from a technology event isn't a new service.
It can be a new idea.
A new architecture.
A new collaboration.
Or simply a conversation with another builder facing the same problem.

📅 Mark the Dates

AWS re 2026
📍 Las Vegas, Nevada 📅 November 30 – December 4, 2026 🎯 2,200+ sessions 🤖 Cloud + AI + Security + Developer Technologies 🛠️ Workshops, labs, demos, keynotes and deep dives
AWS has already made the event catalog available, and reserved seating is scheduled to open October 6, 2026.
Even if you can't travel to Las Vegas, AWS says that keynotes and select live programming will be livestreamed for free, with livestream registration opening later this year.

💡 The Builder Mindset

For me, the most interesting part of re isn't simply discovering what's new.
It's thinking about what we can build with what's new.
Every new AWS capability creates another possibility for developers to turn an idea into a working application.
So as re 2026 approaches, I'm keeping one question in mind:
What will we build next?
Maybe the next big idea won't come from a giant company.
Maybe it will come from a student, an independent developer, a startup, or an AWS Builder experimenting with a new service for the first time.
That's what makes the cloud exciting.
The technology keeps evolving.
And builders get to decide what comes next.
