AI for Educators: A Hands-On Faculty Workshop with Kiro and Amazon Quick

Bringing AI to educators: a discussion and hands-on workshop with Kiro and Amazon Quick, shaped by lessons sharpened through my AWS New Voices coaching.

A day with educators

On 24 August 2026, I visited JJ College of Engineering and Technology in Trichy for their Faculty Upskilling & Skill Enhancement Workshop on AI. The audience was faculty members, experienced educators who shape how the next generation learns.

The idea behind the day

The session focused on AI from an educator's point of view: what it is, where it can genuinely support the work faculty already do, and how they can guide students to use it responsibly.
Most of the day was an open discussion. Towards the end, a short hands-on workshop gave everyone a chance to try it on their own work.

Discussion first, then hands-on

The faculty brought their own questions and experiences, and some of the best moments came from them. The hands-on part used Kiro  and Amazon Quick , and seeing everyone try things out for themselves made it the most energetic part of the day.

Sharpened by AWS New Voices

Over 10+ years in cloud, DevOps and AI engineering, I have trained freshers, led campus placements, served on hackathon juries, and spoken at AWS partner workshops, pre-placement talks and guest lectures.
This was my first talk since being selected for AWS New Voices 2026. The program sharpened how I structure a talk around the people in the room. A room of educators needs a different story from a room of students: less about what AI can do, and more about what it gives back to them and what stays theirs.

With gratitude

Thank you to the management and faculty of JJ College of Engineering and Technology for having me. The hospitality was genuinely appreciated: from the moment I arrived in Trichy until I left, everything was taken care of.
I'm grateful to Meridith Grundei, our New Voices coach and to AWS and the AWS Community Builders program for investing in community speakers.
