What if your phone could understand what you need in your city and show you the right local offers at the right time? City Wallet is an AI-powered smart-city application that connects people with nearby businesses through personalized offers based on their interests, location, weather, time, and local events. This project combines AI + AWS + real-world data to create a practical cloud application that is useful for both customers and local businesses.

We all search for places to eat, shop, travel, or relax, but most apps give everyone the same recommendations.
City Wallet takes a different approach.
A user can simply tell the app what they are looking for. The system then combines that request with useful context such as location, weather, date, and local conditions. Local businesses can also provide information such as their products, target customers, and available offers.
An AI service uses this information to create a personalized recommendation or offer for the user.
For example:
“It’s a hot Saturday afternoon in Delhi and you’re looking for coffee.”
Instead of showing hundreds of random results, City Wallet could highlight relevant nearby offers from local cafés.
The project is built using AWS services such as Amazon Cognito for authentication, API Gateway and ECS for the application, RDS for data, ElastiCache for caching, SQS/EventBridge for event-driven communication, and Amazon Bedrock for AI.
The main idea is simple:
User request → City context → Business data → AI → Personalized offer
The project can be expanded with maps, notifications, loyalty rewards, analytics, and smarter recommendations.
More importantly, City Wallet is a great way to learn how modern cloud applications are designed by building something that feels like a real product rather than another tutorial project.
