Journey of AWS SBG @ SEC

The beginning of something big - The journey of strongest growing student community!

No one knew it at the time - A message in a university WhatsApp group was about to bring together a group of strangers who would eventually become a team, a community, and a family of builders.
There were no grand announcements—just a registration link and a chance to be part of something new. That was the first page of the AWS Student Builder Group story. What followed was more than a recruitment process. It was the beginning of a community built on curiosity, collaboration, and the willingness to learn. It was an ordinary day until Ranen Joseph Solomon and Bala Saravanan, the administrators of the group, shared the link inviting students to become a part of the AWS Student Builder Group (AWS SBG). At first glance, it looked like just another opportunity posted in the group. But for many of us, it would become the beginning of an unforgettable journey.
Once registrations were completed, interview slots were opened for students to choose a time accordingly, the interviews were conducted online through Google Meet. One by one, students joined their scheduled sessions to meet the interview panel consisting of Ranen Joseph Solomon, Bala Saravanan, and Preethi. They were so chill. They maintained a good vibe where the participants felt really comfortable and spoke up their motive clearly. These conversations were never about finding the perfect candidate. Instead, they focused on discovering individuals who were genuinely curious, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to the student community. Every participant brought a unique perspective, and every conversation added something valuable to the selection process.
After the interviews, the Leads and Co-Leads for the core teams were selected. The first step, "A Team" was built successfully!
Even after the interviews were over, the journey didn't stop there. The organizers created a Padlet where everyone could openly share their thoughts about the interview experience—what they liked, what could have been better, and any suggestions they had. They were listening to every perspective and making the process even better for the future. This made a strong sense of achievement and brought clarity to the teams, and then Student Builder (officially) of AWS joined their hands together to Break the ice! They worked on the first unofficial event - Greet & Meet, among the members with fun secret task, where they want to come up with an event where the Teams can collaborate and introduce themselves, so that they wont feel embarrassing or awkward throughout the journey.
This was the first ever task, which bring the real visual of teamwork among them! They made the event with great level of excitement, made posters, announcements, engaging activities, and the whole team went with a unmatched level of vibe and self introduction went smooth that even strangers felt like familiar!! This is just a starting of the Great Journey.
