AI-DLC Hackathon

My experience with AI-DLC Hackathon

Just a curious student who loves to build stuff related to AI Cybersecurity & Quantum Computing
If someone asked me to pick one highlight from my semester holidays... it'd probably be these two days.Spent my semester holidays at the Amazon Office, Chennai for the AI-DLC Hackathon Didn't expect to spend my holidays inside Amazon office, but I'm not complaining. ✋🤠🤚
One session that genuinely stood out was by Medha Aiyah, talking about Amazon's Leadership Principles and what it's actually like being a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) .
I really enjoyed hearing about the thought process behind building products and making technical decisions at scale. The Working Backwards approach was probably my biggest takeaway.
I usually start with "this would be cool to build." Amazon's approach was more like
"would anyone actually use this?" Turns out that's a pretty good question to ask before spending days building something that just ends up sitting in GitHub.
We also got introduced to the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC), explored AWS's GenAI stack, got hands-on with Kiro, and received AWS + Kiro credits to build our solution. Safe to say we didn't let those credits sit idle we pushed them pretty hard, experimented with a bunch of ideas, broke a few things, and tried more models than we probably needed to.
The next day was all about execution-taking an idea from a whiteboard to something people could actually use. Happy to say our team ended up finishing 3rd.
Thanks for my teammates Balavanitha R  and K Guru Prakash
Huge thanks to AWS Youth Tech and Nihitha Vemulapalli  for organizing such a well-run event, and to our AWS Student Builder Group - Sairam Institutions  for making this opportunity possible.Definitely a good way to spend a semester break.
