Dr. T is an AI-powered multilingual voice healthcare assistant designed to provide natural conversations, health guidance, appointment support, and personalized user experiences across multiple languages.

Frontend & Application Layer
We built the application using Next.js and deployed it on Vercel. Vercel provided a streamlined development workflow with automatic deployments, preview environments, serverless functions, and global content delivery, allowing us to iterate rapidly and deploy production-ready updates with minimal operational overhead.
AWS Database Integration
For persistent application data, we used Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless through the AWS Databases integration available in Vercel. Aurora PostgreSQL was selected because the platform manages highly structured and relational data, including:
- User accounts and profiles
- AI conversation history
- Appointment records
- Healthcare knowledge references
- Session metadata
- Multilingual preferences
- Usage analytics and reporting
Aurora PostgreSQL provides full PostgreSQL compatibility, ACID-compliant transactions, high availability, and automatic scaling, making it well suited for a healthcare-focused AI platform that requires reliable and consistent data management. The serverless architecture allows the database to scale automatically based on workload without requiring infrastructure management.
Architecture
- Users interact with Dr. T through a responsive web interface hosted on Vercel.
- Vercel serverless functions handle authentication, AI orchestration, voice processing, and API requests.
- Application data is stored in Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless.
- Conversation records, user preferences, and session data are persisted in Aurora for retrieval and personalization.
- AI-generated responses are returned to users in real time through voice and chat interfaces.
Why AWS + Vercel
The AWS Databases and Vercel integration allowed us to provision and connect a production-grade database directly from the Vercel environment without complex infrastructure setup. This enabled us to focus on product development and user experience rather than database provisioning and operations. AWS managed the database scalability, security, and reliability while Vercel handled deployment, hosting, and application delivery.
Impact
We combine Vercel with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless to create a scalable AI healthcare platform capable of supporting conversational interactions, persistent memory, multilingual experiences, and future growth from prototype to production while maintaining a modern serverless architecture.
