Introducing Heeratrack: Modernizing the Diamond Industry's Supply Chain ๐
Growing up in Surat, I saw the challenges of traditional diamond inventory management. Here is a brief introduction to Heeratrack, a SaaS platform I am building to digitize the industry.
Hello Builders and Innovators! ๐
Over the past few months, I have been sharing my technical journey, deep-diving into cloud concepts, and participating in the #100DaysOfDevOps challenge. Today, I am excited to step back from the code and share the why behind my learning: a real-world SaaS startup I am building called Heeratrack.
Here is a short introduction to what we are building and the problem we are solving.
๐๏ธ The Inspiration: Rooted in Surat
Growing up in Surat, the diamond polishing capital of the world, I have always been surrounded by the diamond trade. With my father running a business in this industry, I had a front-row seat to the daily operations.
While the craftsmanship in Surat is world-class, I noticed that the inventory management and workflow trackingโmoving a diamond from rough procurement, to the polishing wheel, to the final saleโoften relies on outdated, fragmented, or manual methods. It is a highly complex process where every micro-milligram matters, but the software used to track it hasn't kept up.
๐ก The Solution: Meet Heeratrack
To bridge this gap, I am developing Heeratrack, a specialized SaaS platform designed specifically for diamond manufacturers and traders.
Heeratrack acts as a digital Command Center. It is built to seamlessly track inward entries, manage job allocations to different artisans, and provide real-time visibility into the entire lifecycle of a diamond. Our goal is to replace chaotic ledger books and disconnected spreadsheets with a unified, secure, and fast cloud-native application.
๐ What's Next?
We are currently in the heavy development phase, building out the core inward and outward workflow logic. Translating generations of traditional business practices into modern code is a huge challenge, but it is incredibly rewarding.
I will continue to share my general cloud learnings here, but I am thrilled to finally introduce the project that is driving my passion for tech.
