AWS Student Builder Campus Leaders
Everything you need to know about the AWS Student Builder Campus Leader program (where you get paid to build, connect, and lead on your campus!)
You already know what AWS Student Builder Groups are about: learning, building, and connecting with fellow students who are passionate about cloud. Now imagine taking that a step further, representing AWS Builder Center on your campus, hosting activations, and getting paid to do it. That's exactly what AWS Student Builder Campus Leaders (SBCL) do.
What are AWS Student Builder Campus Leaders?
AWS Student Builder Campus Leaders (SBCL) are paid, part-time student ambassadors who bring AWS Builder Center to life on their campuses. You'll drive awareness of cloud tools and resources, host events, create content, and inspire your peers to start building.
The SBCL role is a 12-week commitment, roughly 8–10 hours per week. This program is run by Amazon Web Services in partnership with NEXT GEN TEAM, Plus 1 Communications, and Effect Sports. While AWS sets the program strategy, our local partners manage the day to day with students, including communication and translation in local languages.
What will you do as a Campus Leader?
- Share the value of AWS Builder Center to your peers and show them how to get started
- Develop and share content that highlights AWS Builder Center tools and education
- Host events on-campus that get people talking, like mini demos, tabling, class announcements, and anything that works for your campus
What’s in it for you?
- You get paid – A paycheck for doing cool things.
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Opportunity to reapply for future terms or be promoted to lead AWS Student Builder Groups
- Ongoing coaching and professional development
How can you qualify?
- You are a current college or university students (ages 18+) with at least one year remaining in your program
- You're the person your friends come to when they want to know what's happening on campus -- you're proactive and comfortable talking to different people
- You are involved in campus life, organizations, or communities
Where is the SBCL program available?
The SBCL program is currently active in the United States, Brazil, and India. We are working to bring the program to additional markets in the future. If the program isn't available in your country yet, you can still get involved today. Join an AWS Student Builder Group to connect with fellow builders on your campus, grow your cloud skills, and be the first to know when the SBCL program expands to your region.
How does recruitment work?
If you've been contacted about the SBCL program, here's what to expect:
- Initial outreach. You'll receive an email or message introducing the program and inviting you to learn more.
- Program onboarding conversation. A short video call where the recruitment team walks you through the program, answers your questions, and gets to know you. Think of it as a two-way conversation, not a formal interview.
- Offer and onboarding. Selected students receive an offer and join a structured onboarding session before the program kicks off.
Outreach may come from the NEXT GEN TEAM, Plus 1 Communications, or Effect Sports recruitment team on behalf of AWS. This is normal, as they are our official program partners.
Sound like your thing?
