Introducing Article View Counts on AWS Builder Center
You can now see how many builders are reading your articles, giving you a real metric to understand the reach of your content.
We're excited to announce article view counts on AWS Builder Center. Starting today, authors can see exactly how many times their articles have been viewed, so you always have a sense of how far your content is reaching.
What are view counts?
View counts show you how many times other builders have clicked on and viewed your article. The count appears directly on your article on the article page and on your profile article list.
Who can see my view count?
Your view count is private to you. Only you, as the author, can see it. Readers and other community members will not see this count. Think of it as your personal window into how your content is performing.
Why does this matter?
When you publish on Builder Center, it can be hard to know whether your content is actually landing with other builders. View counts give you a clearer picture of that. You can see which articles are resonating, understand what topics your audience finds most useful, and use that to decide what to write next. Over time, it helps you become a more intentional contributor to the community, writing more of what builders actually want to read.
How are views counted?
A view is counted when someone clicks on and views your article, whether they're a signed-in AWS Builder or someone browsing before logging in. A few things worth knowing:
- Your own visits to your article do not count toward your view total.
- If the same person reads your article more than once within a 24-hour window, it counts as one view. After 24 hours, a return visit counts again.
Where do I find my view count?
Look for the view count icon on your articles. You'll see it on the article detail page and your profile.
