AWS AI League 2025 Finals
Three brave agents fought for the prizes, glory and bragging rights, but there could only be one winner
AWS AI League is a way for you and your organisation build the AI skills for the modern business opportunities. Participants join a hands-on tournament to fight for prizes, trophies and bragging rights. Visit the page of the league for more details.
The finalists
The top three players in the semifinals were:
- hemanth: Hemanth Vediyera, a software engineer from Cisco Systems
- rosscomp1: Ross Williams, a director of application engineering at Aqfer
- deepesh002: Deepesh Khanna, a senior manager at CapitalOne
They worked their way to the top of the leaderboard by building an agent to compete in the game called Dungeons of Agentic Interactions.
The game is a virtual maze in which an agent is tasked with establishing the best path through a maze while avoiding spikes and taking on various challenges from simple questions, through web scraping and code execution tasks, to prompt evaluation. Getting a challenge right gives the agent points, getting it wrong costs a life which users only have three of. Users also get points for the preserved lives and depending on the amount of tokens needed for the interaction.
The finals
The finals were a continuation of the agentic challenge. Users used the agent as prepared in the semifinals and could only influence it by writing their startup runtime prompt which then influenced the system prompt.
There were three challenges in the final. Each finalist had 45 seconds to set up the prompt, then 4-5 minutes to complete the maze.
Let's also mention the prizes:
- 1st place: trophy, champion belt, $15,000 reward and the bragging rights
- 2nd place: a league belt and $7,500 reward
- 3rd place: a league belt and $2,500 reward
Round 1

The first round challenge
Deepash had problems with his model which caused him to fail the challenge and only collect the minimum reward for the round.

The first round challenge
Ross and Hemanth fought hard but the highest prize went to the latter.
Round 2
This time the users had to pass three challenges in get to the treasure alive.

Second round challenge
Deepesh kept having problems with his pathfinder tool and Hemanth increased his advantage. By this time it was clear that Deepesh was out of the game for the win.
Round 3

Third round challenge
This time we got a new addition on the board: a boss right in front of the treasure chest. It's a task that requires combining multiple subagents and tools.

The routes established in the third round
Two significant changes were that Deepesh suddenly got a route and hemanth seemed to have selected a swift strategy finding the shorted path from start to the treasure.
The end results were as follows:
- hemanth: 25709 points
- rosscomp1: 19933 points
- deepesh002: 12810 points
