Take a second to appreciate what you just accomplished. A week ago, you might have never touched AWS. Now you have a live website that people can interact with. That's pretty amazing!
Here's what you learned along the way:
- Day 1 🔐: Set up your AWS account the right way (enabled MFA, created an admin user, and set up budget alerts so you stay in control)
- Day 2 📁: Created secure cloud storage with S3, learned why buckets stay private by default, and uploaded your first files to the cloud
- Day 3 🌐: Built your website files - wrote HTML and CSS, added your photo and personal info, and organized everything in your bucket
- Day 4 🌍: Made your site accessible worldwide with CloudFront (set up a CDN so your site loads fast everywhere, plus learned how to keep S3 private while still serving content)
- Day 5 🚀: Learned modern web development workflow. Used version control with Git and GitHub, created a professional deployment pipeline with Amplify that automatically updates your site when you change code
- Day 6 📧: Added a contact form with Lambda and SNS - built serverless functions that run only when needed, plus email notifications
This week, you learned how websites work in the cloud, the security practices, and the way different services talk to each other. This foundation will serve you well as you keep building.
