Welcome to AWS Builder Center!

Builder Center is your go-to site to connect with other AWS Builders and discover resources to that helps you learn, build, and grow. This living guide will explain what you can do in Builder Center and how to get started.

When you're here, you can:

  • Search for, read, and share articles from other AWS Builders
  • View AWS Builder profiles
  • Find AWS communities and events
  • Explore content by specific topics and interest areas

Once you sign in, you unlock even more, including:

  • Create a Builder Center profile
  • Publish and engage with content (articles, wishes, and comments) in your preferred language
  • Submit and vote for wishes that request product and services improvements to AWS teams
  • Comment, like, and share content created by other AWS Builders
  • Follow other AWS Builders from around the world

👩‍💻 Signing into Builder Center with your AWS Builder ID

AWS Builder ID is your single credential that allows you to create a Builder Center profile, publish articles, create wishes, engage with content across multiple AWS communities, and more.

📋 How to create your Builder ID:

  1. Click Sign in on the AWS Builder Center top navigation.
  2. On the Create AWS Builder ID page, enter Your email address. We recommend that you use a personal email.
  3. Choose Next.
  4. Enter Your name, and then choose Next.
  5. On the Email verification page, enter the verification code that we sent to your email address. Choose Verify. Depending on your email provider, it might take a few minutes for you to receive the email. Check your spam and junk folders for the code. If you don’t see the email from AWS after five minutes, choose Resend code.
6. After we verify your email, on the Choose a password page, enter a Password and Confirm password.
7. If a Captcha appears as additional security, enter the characters that appear.
8. Choose Create AWS Builder ID.

📋 How to sign in with your existing Builder ID:

  1. After creating your Builder ID, click Sign in on the Builder Center top navigation.
  2. Enter your Builder ID email and password.
  3. If required, complete any additional verification steps.
  4. Once you're signed in, your display name will appear in the top navigation.
Did you know… You can also use your Builder ID for other AWS offerings, including AWS Skill Builder or AWS re:Post.

🪄Claim your alias and create your profile

If it's your first time signing into Builder Center, you will likely be prompted to choose an alias. This is your unique handle in Builder Center. When you claim your alias, it will establish your Builder Center profile and automatically create your unique profile QR code and URL.
Your URL will look like this: builder.aws.com/community/@youralias

📋 Manage your profile:

  1. Click your display name in the top navigation to expand a dropdown.
  2. Select Manage profile.
  3. On your profile page, click the pencil icon to start editing your profile:
    • Add your profile image
    • Update your basic information
    • Create your About section (everyone can view this)
    • Select your interests

⌨️ Content: creating, managing, and engaging

When creating content, builders must adhere to the AWS Builder Terms . Content should also contain thoughtful and accurate information, respect for others, and protection of confidential information. Any attempt to manipulate features or content, including posting false or misleading information, is prohibited.
To ensure content quality, we may employ automated moderation to check for broken links, profanity, and appropriate title and description length. For accessibility:
  • Use clear headings with a logical structure (H1 → H2 → H3)
  • Provide alternative text for images
  • Ensure sufficient color contrast (minimum 4.5:1 ratio) for text
  • Write in plain language
  • Break content into digestible chunks with short paragraphs and bullet points

📰 Articles

Articles are builder-generated content pieces that provide information, insights, tutorials, or discussions about various AWS products and services, features, best practices, and more. Once you sign into Builder Center, you can start creating articles.
Your articles remain accessible through their original URLs even after editing, helping maintain stable links for shared content.

  1. On the AWS Builder Center top navigation, click + and select Create article.
  2. Populate all required fields. As you make changes, it will automatically save your draft.
  3. Click Preview to review how your article will look when published.
  4. Click Publish.
  5. Wait for the automated content moderation scan to complete.
  6. When your article is published, it will automatically appear on the page.

Wishes 🌟

In Wishlist, you can create wishes. These are your ideas, suggestions, or challenges you face while using AWS products and services. You can comment and upvote on wishes. Once you sign into Builder Center, you can start creating wishes.
📋 Creating a wish:
  1. Click + on the Builder Center top navigation and select Create wish.
  2. Fill in all required fields.
  3. Click Preview to review your wish.
  4. Click Submit. Your wish will undergo automated content moderation.
